JT Barnett is a producer, director, and creative force behind hundreds of projects across television, documentary, branded content, and commercial photography. Known for blending cinematic storytelling with strategic production, he builds more than shows. He builds worlds.
He began in television as a field producer on the cult hit Cheaters, then helped ignite a global media phenomenon as a director and producer of the original Tiger King, which became Netflix’s #1 series, earning six Emmy nominations and over 160 million views in its first month.
Mentored by Mark Lipsky and James Russell, JT developed a style that merges cinematic vision with raw, character-driven storytelling.
He currently serves as co-executive producer of Cheaters alongside Bobby Goldstein while developing original IP across technology, finance, cannabis and sustainability.
JT is a partner at GTIF Capital, working alongside David Chen to structure and develop media ventures at the intersection of content, capital, and global opportunity. He is also completing his MBA at Southern Methodist University, integrating business strategy with media and global impact.
